Discovered while I was working on a composite of the full Milky Way arch. Taken outside of Marfa, TX.

Exploding Meteor | December 14, 2020

This was a first for me! I was camping at Enchanted Rock SNA to observe the 2020 Geminids Meteor Shower and got a lucky capture of an exploding meteor. This animated gif was created with 18 30-second exposures, so the elapsed time was about 9 minutes.

Perseids Meteor Shower | August 15, 2015

One of my first meteor captures. Taken as people were leaving a star party at McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis, TX, so there is a pretty bad flare from the headlights. But it was such a nice, bright green one!
